 For Immediate Release – January 13, 2014
man_image (HUGUENOT, NY) - In a strong showing of support for a campaign that is rapidly gaining momentum, three local Republican committees have unanimously endorsed Town of Deerpark Supervisor Karl A. Brabenec for the New York State Assembly 98th district.  The Republican town committees of Deerpark and Minisink and the City of Port Jervis Republican Committee voted to endorse Brabenec’s candidacy at their recent monthly meetings. Brabenec is running for the seat vacated by Orange County Clerk Annie Rabbitt.

“Karl has a strong and positive record of reform as Supervisor of our town,” said Linda Otto, acting chairwoman of the Deerpark Republican Committee. “He has cut spending, lowered taxes, and streamlined regulations in a tough economy. It’s time to put his energy, knowledge, and skills to work for all the residents of the 98th district.”

“Supervisor Brabenec is the only candidate who has directly and successfully tackled the challenges our border communities face in attracting new business and economic development,” said Robert Ritchie, chairman of the Port Jervis Republican Committee. “He also has 20 years of experience helping to elect Republican candidates at every level. He knows our county and its politics better than anyone. No one has worked harder than Karl for our Party’s nomination, and no one is more deserving of it.”

“Our committee always looks for hardworking candidates who will be strong advocates for their constituents and go the extra mile to meet all the voters and win elections,” said George Smith, chairman of the Minisink Republican Committee. “Karl Brabenec has taken the time to understand the issues that concern us in Minisink and he has a proven track record of delivering for his residents. We are positive that he is by far our best candidate and that he’ll be a great Assemblyman for the 98th District.”

The election for the 98th Assembly District seat will be held in November of this year unless Governor Cuomo calls a special election to fill the remainder of Rabbitt’s unexpired term. As yet, no such announcement has been made.
